Product Details
The base resin is a Hi-Lite Resi Formula and is used by Australia’s leading Surfboard Glassers.
- Sold in 1L and 4L Drums
- Filler resin is a waxed, easily sanded polyester resin designed to be used in the surfboard glassing process
- The resin is formulated with a blue tint to enhance the whiteness of the board. Non blue tint resin will have a slight yellow tint and will brown off faster.
- Wax in Styrene is designed to form an air-tight layer on the surface of a resin that can affect the curing process. Testing is therefore recommended to determine an optimal mix based on environmental conditions and user preferences.
- Catalyst (MEKP and SUNBAKE UV Cure) is required to cure resin and is sold separately. Please note, a curing agent is require to set the resin hard.
Converting Laminating Resin into a Filler Resin is a relatively simple process, achieved through adding Wax in Styrene.
Shapers warranty on all Polyester Resin is 3months from date of purchase.
MKEP Conversion
MEKP is a Catalyst which is used to cure (harden) Polyester Resin (PE).
MEKP is generally mixed at 0.5 – 1.5% ratio. Depending on desired curing speed and environmental factors.
Testing is recommended pior use.
